![]() ![]() The narrower boots sometimes look a little like elf shoes with a snip toe. Some boot models and manufacturers do snip toes better than others. For me, they scream Norteno concert or line dance party or Texas oil baron. Snip toe in a flashy exotic skin is harder to pull off, and more context-dependent. Surprisingly versatile, from jeans to office to fancy wear. Snip toe in a calfskin, or goat, or some other neutral and understated leather can really work well. I’m a skinny guy so they looked like clown shoes to me but they might fit your build better than me. Tecovas I think did a fantastic job on their python snip toe barrett (if you can find any for sale)and hopefully they do more in the future, for the toe room it feels the snugest for me but I have a pair of those Barrett’s and I have full range of motion for my toes and they feel freely and I also stuck with the same size as I normally wear in (10.5D) Check out YeeHaw cowboy boots, they have a really cool black cherry caimen boot in a snip toe I really liked but the boot is a little wider than normal. To me I think snips are the most aggressive on a exotic boot like python or caimen looks really good, Heritage boots have a really cool selection for snips, black jack boots let’s you make your toe and heel selection if you wanted to look at their stuff but the catch is you gotta wait 6 to 10 months for them to make it which you said you didn’t want to do. It just depends on what style you like, or how aggressive you want your boots to be man. And I'm looking down at my boots, and the gears start turning. I got some really nice jeans that I absolutely love. Lucchese's 7-toe is generally a good representation. Not into the duckfoot broad squares, but a harness boot, French toe, something like that always did the trick. Doesn't help that I've got Hobbit feet (True size 12 E, doesn't help matters any) so I've always thought I needed the extra room. I'm a stocky guy, built pretty solid, so the idea of a pointy toe seemed kinda weird to me. I used to think snip toes were kinda dainty. ![]()
